The title of this blog comes from the Antje Duvekot song, "Long Way." It seems fitting to use a song, one of my favorite songs, about a road trip by an artist from Somerville, MA. "And it's a long way to Washington and back...Cause it's a long way, the clouds upon our backs..."

- This blog started when Annie and Alison drove cross country (see early postings). Annie moved to Portland, OR to find some answers in the mountains peaked with summer snow and her favorite body of water, the Columbia River. Alison returned home to Washington State one more time to see her sister's new baby boy before moving back east to New York to begin her own adventure between two rivers and less mountains, but better bagels. This blog has now transitioned from travel log to a more general writing experiment. Not into it? check out thedesktopexperiment.blogspot.com instead.
